Fun Friday!

It's Friday! I need something fun to do today! This week has been a little hectic and I need something fun to take my mind off of things!

I am so excited about Easter this year! I have all my goodies ready to make our twin girls Easter baskets! Chocolate and more chocolate is this years theme!

We are celebrating Easter with my family and my husbands family, all in one. I've been asked to make my super special cheesecake! I'll post the recipe after a few years, once they get sick of it; but for now, I'll keep it secret! However, I did find this really cute little appetizer idea to take along as well.

I think these are adorable!  This would be so cute with a little personalized label at each place setting.
Remember to get your free Easter Printables here.

MG Events: Flower Finder

The bridal show is on Sunday! How did time escape from me so fast?!
It’s a good thing that I’m a planner (ironic, I know) and have my whole set up figured out already.

Like I have said in previous blog posts, I’m doing a Southern Peach Bridal Shower Brunch.
I’m going to incorporate white, burlap and orange into my theme to make it perfectly Southern!
To add a little classiness to the tablescape, I’m using real white plates placed on top of light bronze chargers. I’m also using real champagne glasses for a morning brunch mimosa.
I’m bringing in a touch of orange by incorporating it into the cake and the flowers.

Speaking of flowers, that’s the last thing left on my to-do list. So many of us don’t know “flower lingo.” We don’t know what a florist means when they look at you and say, “Oh, ranunculus would be beautiful!” Well, dear florist, what is a ranunculus or a wax flower or hypericum berries?
Here is my solution to your endless planning frustration.
It’s a great website where you can search color and season of the flowers you want.

My example search for the bridal show was, “Orange flowers in April.” The site came back with several varieties of tulips, calla lilies, wax flowers, ranunculus, etc!

Hope to see you at the Bridal Show!

MG Events: Ribs for baby Easton

Dear readers,

It breaks my heart that our dear friends have asked me to help them with this event.
John Sapp, with Grandview Rental in Ocala, FL. has an employee that has suffered a recent tragedy.

Danny Batson and his wife, Candice just celebrated the birth of their little boy, Easton. Within minutes of him being born, the doctors could tell something wasn't right.
He was rushed to Shands where he still remains, fighting for his life. To read more about Easton's story, visit this link.

John has graciously volunteered to do a rib sale benefit for the Batson's. Please see the image below for details.

Tickets can be purchased at:

Fun Friday!

It's that time again! Easter is 16 days away! That means that you have just over TWO weeks to get all your Easter idea's together!

I thought this idea would be fabulous for kids to do! They can help with the dipping or decorating or both!

What you need:
A batch of cupcakes
Frosting: yellow and orange
Yellow sanding sugar (I usually find this at Hobby Lobby. I am sure Michael's would have some too).
Decorating bags
Decorating tips: Wilton #102 (petal)
Mini chocolate chips

* If you don't have Wilton tips, take a small zip lock bag and fill one with your yellow frosting and the other one with the orange frosting. Cut a small end off of one corner of the bag for the yellow frosting and an even smaller corner off of the orange frosting bag.

Instructions:
* Spread a heavy layer of yellow frosting over your cupcake. Smooth the top.
* Dunk it! Fill a small bowl with sanding sugar and gently dip the top of your cupcake. Turn cupcake to
   cover all sides.
* Add two mini chocolate chips for the eyes.
* Using Wilton tip # 102, ruffle some feathers on the side of your cupcake. (Use your zip lock bag)
* Spoon a small amount of your yellow sanding sugar over the wings and gently shake off the excess.
* Next, add a small little beak and some feet with your orange frosting.
* Sprinkle a little sanding sugar and shake off the excess.
*** You can add a tiny dot of white on each chocolate chip to make the eyes appear a little softer.

Doilie Inspiration

It's difficult to keep all my ideas organized on my blog for the multiple events that I am working on.... so, please bear with me as I flip-flop from one event to the next throughout the next few weeks.

Back to the upcoming bridal show.... Like I have mentioned before, I'm going with a Southern Peach Bridal Shower Brunch theme.

I was looking for some cute ideas to display at my booth for thank you gifts. My goal was to achieve 3 things:

*Easy
*Cute
*Cheap

The following ideas are just that....

Upcycled... DIY

I have a big event coming up in April that I've been working on.
We are expecting about 300 guests.
The theme is "country/rustic chic."

This is a fundraising event so the board doesn't have a lot of money to invest in decor. This forces me even more than normal to let my creative juices flow!

My goal is to utilize what this group already has instead of coming up with ideas where new items need to be purchased.

With an estimate of over 30 tables, they don't have enough of any 'one' thing to be used on every table.
My solution.... go "chic." A chic look allows you to experiment with different textures, sizes, tins, vases, jars, candles, the list is endless.

I've divided this project into 3... 11 tables will have one look, 11 more tables will have another look and the 12 remaining tables will have another look.

One of the centerpiece ideas that I had in mind was using some tin cans (you know the ones that hold your bakes beans).

Here are some fun ideas that you can incorporate into your next event or to change up the "same old, same old."

Burlap rustic vases, 14 containers, table decor for wedding upcycled tin cans, cute and woodland
Burlap covered tins... for variety, cover them in any fabric you want.

I think this is a great idea for utensil storage!

I love the versatility tin cans have to offer... from spray paint to flowers to lace...

Fun Friday

Who is ready for Fun Friday?!?
I know that I am!

I'm getting ready for Easter and I thought that these little DIY peep pops would compliment the FREE Easter printable package featured in my blog a few Fridays ago, perfectly.

PS... You know those cute paper straws.... the ones that you can't find in any local store... and whenever you need them, you don't have enough time to order them off of ETSY.
Well my friends, I have a surprise for you. Head down to your local Target, go to the party isle and pick up your paper straws! They are $1.99 for a package of 20 multi colored straws.

DIY Easter Peep Pops
* Gently heat up some white chocolate over a double boiler.
* Dip your straws into the chocolate.
* Gently push your peeps through the straw.
* Viola!

*If you are feeling very creative, you can dip your peeps into the chocolate too and make your very own chocolate covered peeps. Sprinkle some fun sprinkles on the hot chocolate and put the peeps in the fridge to cool down.

MG Events: Updates....

Hello all!

I'm back on the blog!
This week has been so incredible! I took some time away from blogging so that I could focus on my projects that were due this week.

I had in incredible photo shoot opportunity for the Family Times Magazine  in Ocala, FL. this past Wednesday.
I cannot wait to share details about the photo shoot. I'm having to bite my tongue and not splurge the details before the next magazine issue is released.

I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to Rose, owner and editor of the Family Times Magazine for the incredible opportunity you gave me and my budding new company. You have been a joy to work with and I hope that we have many more opportunities to work together again in the future. I also wanted to say thank you to Steve Specht, Events and Marketing Coordinator at the Appleton and the Appleton Museum for allowing us to utilize their courtyard.

Thank you to my little models, Rachel and Garrett. Your super sized ice cream cones were well deserved!

Thank you to Stuart, my amazing assistant. This event couldn't have been made as huge of a success without your help. I am very grateful for your input, your time and your talent.

Lastly, I cannot do this without the love and support from my husband. The late hours of computer work, the stressful moments, the tears, the frustration, the dreams, the inspiration... you have been through it all with me. Thank you for believing in me and for allowing me to make my dreams come true.
I love you and our baby girls.

I feel so blessed and honored to have such great support from my friends, family and my local community.

Xoxo!

Fun Friday!

Here we are again! Another Friday has come and gone!

My week has been hectic! It's been filled with drafting contracts, setting up appointments, crisis managing schedule changes, scheduling new events and finishing some final touches on current events for next week!

It's a little chilly in Florida today but I'm ready for a vacation!

I think we need to kick start the weekend with an ice cream sundae party!

How cute would this be to kick start Spring Break in a few weeks with these fun centerpieces?

I stumbled across this idea while browsing through the Internet and thought that they would be absolutely fabulous for a Spring Break party , an Ice cream Sundae Party or just a plain old pool party.

Carnations are very inexpensive and can sometimes look very, well, you know... ugh...
This however, looks fun, exciting, and makes me think of being at the poolside during summer time snacking on a yummy ice cold vanilla sundae.

Grab some dollar store vases, add some carnations and top it off with a cherry! Viola!
