Fun Friday

Are you ready for a fun Friday DIY activity?

I'm sure most of America is ready for Sunday's big Super Bowl! Some of you might be planning to host a big party, while others might be choosing to scale it down this year.

Either way, here is a fun little DIY craft no matter how many people you plan to have.

Materials:
  • Two empty coffee cans (or any other containers you have laying around)
  • Spray paint
  • White acrylic paint
  • Silverware
 Instructions:

Make sure you clean the inside of the coffee cans with some warm soapy water. Dry them off completely before getting your spray paint ready.
* For a more rugged look, take off the paper wrapper around the coffee can. You can remove any sticky residue with a little bit of lighter fluid. Remember to wash off any excess lighter fluid after you're done.
Get your well ventilated work area ready by laying down an old towel or newspaper before you start your spray paint process.
Follow the directions on the spray paint container to prevent paint from dripping down your coffee can and leaving streaks. The best method for an even coating of paint is to stand back a few inches and to spray a thin layer first. Wait a few minutes for the first layer to dry. Repeat until your desired color and thickness is reached.
Wait for the spray paint to dry completely before you paint your lines. Practice your lines on a scrap piece of paper to get comfortable with the spacing first.
Paint your white lines and let it dry in a well ventilated area until all paint fumes are gone.
* For a fun twist: use the colors of the team you are rooting for!

Before your guests arrive, throw in some silverware!

Happy Friday!
